Viva la Mexico!!!

Left at the crack of dawn yesterday to head down to Cozumel with my friend Judith. Her daughter is getting married on Saturday so I am going as Judith's +1. it was a long day of travel but we finally got here around 4. It was very hot and humid. We basically unpacked and scoped the place out. We are staying at Iberostar which is an all inclusive resort (or at least that is the package we have). It is very nice.

I slept in today, making up for yesterday when I had to get up at 2:30am. Enjoyed a little breakfast by the pool and then did a few wedding errands. The weather is nice today. ther is cloud cover so it isn't unbearably hot. It is currently drizzling so we are sitting under an umbrella on the beach and reading. I feel like I'm in one of those vacation commercials - lying on the beach chair, waves splashing, drink in hand.. I'm sure you get the picture.

No Internet connection so I'm currently unplugged. Life is good.

Stock Show!

Went to the stock show on Friday night.  It is tradition. Tickets are getting expensive so it was cheaper to go on Friday night then on Saturday.  We headed out after school.  Unfortunately this Mom and Dad forgot their youngest daughter has some nasty allergies.  It didn't take long before we realized she needed beneydrl.  Fortunately we were able to get some at the medical station there.  We normally carry it but I changed purses recently and we took my car instead of Zeb's and haven't managed to get any into mine yet.

Anyway, Keara enjoyed petting the animals and Kailei was upset she couldn't.  We did let them take a picture on top of a bull and horse which made them happy.

Mark was helping with the draft horses again, so Mom and Dad were down as well. Dad's hearing aids were useless around there with all the background noise so conversation was entertaining.

Got a chance to walk around and stock show always means junk food.  Cotton candy, funnel cakes, popcorn, caramel apples, and ice cream pretty much kept us full.

The rodeo was great but Kailei's asthma was really bad at that point.  She did not want to leave however so we tried to get her to cover her face with her jacket.  You would think after all these years we would remember how this allergy thing works but we are still in training apparently.

Despite everything, we had a great time.

Kailei-ism's

"I'm in chocolate heaven. Don't worry, I won't leave you behind baby!" said Kailei as she talked to her dessert.

**********

"Dag nab it! Or should i say, dang rabbits!"

**********

Keara: "So what should I wear to your piano recital tonight?"

Kailei: "We'll, I can tell you that I'm pretty sure the men will be in tuxes."

**********
Kailei: "This song is dedicated to my sister who isn't here right now."

 **********
Keara: "Why can't I have my ears double-pierced?"
Kailei: "Yeah, and why can't I have a double-scoop of ice cream?"

**********
"Your hair really looks cute...and that is not even sarcasm."

**********
As she moves across the booth seat in a restaurant Kailei says quite loudly ..."Hey Mom, I'm bootie-scooching in public!."

Dinner Out

Enjoyed dinner out with my friends tonight.  So great to catch up and share parenting stories.  Makes me feel normal.  Robin surprised us with a video for the girls.  It is a Chinese Cinderella story. I'm looking forward to watching it with the girls.

War Horse

Zeb and I headed downtown today to see War Horse.  Oh my gosh, it was soooo good!!!  I so loved how it was staged and the puppetry of the horses was downright amazing.  It amazes me how creative people can be.  It was great to spend time with my husband and great to get to see this show.

The "Furries"

Jump Street

Found ourselves with nothing to do on a Friday so I packed up the girls and we went out to lunch, McDonald's of course.

The girls have been trying to get me to take them to Jump Street for quite a while so I decided this was the day. We stopped by and picked up the Wyman kids and headed off. Since students were still on Christmas break the place was a madhouse but the kids had fun anyway.

We topped off our afternoon with a milkshake, from McDonald's of course!

Zeb's Bum Leg

So a few days ago Zeb was leaving the house and told me he was going to a doctors appointment. Being the nosey wife I am I inquired for what. "Just a check up.", he stated. "A checkup for what?", I replied. "Oh, just the usual.", he said. Now I had noticed he was limping around but I thought he had just pulled a muscle or something.

Later on that day I was talking with the girls and one of them mentioned "Dad's foot". Inquiring minds had to know more so I found Zeb and asked to see his foot. Boy, was I surprised! From the knee down he was black and blue all over. Take a gander at the picture below.

Turns out he was playing basketball and took out one of the players accidentally. That player was fine but fell on top of Zeb's leg apparently.

It wasn't until a few days later that I found out the "player" was his brother Mitch. I should've known since Mitch already has a reputation for hurting my husband. :)

The doctor says nothings broken at this point but some of us are wondering because the swelling is quite large. Guess time will tell but in the mean time just call Zeb "Hop-a-Long."
