Happy Easter!

Woke up bright and early so we could catch the 7:30am mass.  It was hard to do but we though we would miss the big crowds.  No such luck.  It was packed but we did manage to score a few seats.  The music was great and I really enjoyed mass.

Decided to head to Waffle House for breakfast.  No huge crowds to speak of there.  Just good food.

After we got back from breakfast, the girls hunted for eggs and pigged out on candy.  Kailei was especially grateful as she had given up candy for lent and had not had any for 40 days.

Headed over to Grammy's for lunch.  She cooked a mean meal and everything tasted great. The kids enjoyed themselves and so did we.  Missed having Kevin's family there but hope to see them soon. 

My Easter Cards

The very best part of my Easter was having the girls write me cards.  Below is what they wrote and I just treasure it.

"You've cared for me all my life.  You made me stronger with your kind and gentle ways. You teach what's wright, what's wrong and when I mess up along the way you always forgive me and give me a second chance.  Even though I say I hate you when I'm mad, I always know that you still love me and I hope you know that I love you.  You get me through bad times and good times.  I'll always be on your side and I hope you'll always be on my side.  Sometimes I get sad when I'm making something or trying to do something for you but I know you think it's the thought that counts.   Love, Keara"

Typing Contest

OK - someone in the family might kill me for posting this but I just had too.  We had a typing contest the other night and one family member in particular left us laughing hysterically when after 3 minutes of typing managed to score a whole "1 word per minute."  Here is the proof. I laugh every time I look at it.

Dying Easter Eggs

Headed over to Grammy's to dye Easter eggs.  Kailei was beside herself with excitement.  Nic and Syd were also over there although Nic is getting a little "too cool" to be doing that with us.  The kids had fun and eggs were dyed in record time.  Kailei always manages to get the dye everywhere but can't deny that her eggs look good.

Playdate at the Park

Rumor was that the weather was supposed to be great on Saturday so Sheryl organized a playdate at the park.  I suggested the park outside of JCCC since so many of us are already there and low and behold quite a few people made it.  It was a perfect day and the kids played so well together. I was a little late in getting there as I woke up with a terrible headache but I didn't want to miss out on the sunshine which was a smart thing since the weather today is yucky.  It was very relaxing and I'm so looking forward to more relaxing days ahead.

Zoo Time

Well, along with every person in the state of Colorado we took advantage of the nice weather and headed to the zoo.  It started out a little cool but as the day went on it became really beautiful.  We were joined by the Lawrence's and Trautman's.  It was Claire's first time to the zoo and the first time the girls got to meet her so they were pretty excited.  Really enjoyed the day.
