MWCC Unbirthday Party

Had our "unbirthday party" this past weekend.  There are so many kids in our Mom's group that we decided to have one birthday party for the whole group instead of celebrating a couple of times every month.  We simplified this year and had a pool party, pizza, cake and goodie bags.  Not everyone was able to make it but we still had a good time.  The goodie bags were filled with unique Chinese treats so it was fun discovering how they all tasted.

Kailei-ism

Looking at a stack of photos on my desk Kailei says....
"There's a lot of pictures of me...which of course I like."

Bathroom Humor

I was walking through the playroom and Kailei stopped me, looked me in the eye and said, "Whatever you do, don't go in the bathroom without shoes on."  Not quite registering I walked into the bathroom without shoes and starting looking around.  Suddenly I look down at the floor and see liquid on the tile.  I ask her what it is and she says, "OK, OK...I confess.  I had an accident."  "Oh Kailei", I sighed.  Her only response to me was, "I told you not to go in there without shoes on."

Kailei-ism

So I was taking Kailei to her first piano lesson today.  I was sharing that the name of her teacher was Mrs. Bray.   "Well, that's a nice name for a teacher.", she said.

Kailei's Second Birthday Party

We had another birthday party this weekend. This time we celebrated with the Archer side of the family.  Kailei and Sydney are 1 year and 1 day and enjoy celebrating their birthday together.  We had it out at Tracie's house and partied early because Nic and Sydney start school tomorrow.  Unlike last weeks unique theme, this one was a unicorn and the decorations were fun.  The girls got quite a few gifts and they enjoyed each of them.

Keara was a little off at this party.  She was sneezing up a storm this morning so I gave her a benedryl for her allergies.  Apparently, this wiped her out and she slept through some of the festivities.  (At least I know what to give her next time she needs to sleep).  She actually wasn't the only one as Poppy fell asleep using a balloon as a pillow on the floor.  It was quite humorous but really the party was fun despite the nappers.

Happy Birthday Girls!  We love you lots!

Yes, it's a Pig Party!

Kailei and Anika celebrated their birthday's together yesterday.  Grandpa and Grandma made the trek back up to Denver to celebrate with us.  Kailei choose the theme and was sure Anika would like it.  I must admit however that I got quite a few double-takes as I walked around with a pink pig cake.

Dinner was at our house with a simple meal of hotdogs and hamburgers.  Mitch and Lieu brought a pinata for the kids so they had great fun trying to knock it down and get the candy.  We did it in the backyard and once the candy spilled out I'm not sure if it was the kids or Lea who was faster at grabbing candy.

Kailei got some great gifts as usual.  Grandma made her some American Girl doll clothes which were just amazing.  Uncle Mitch got her some books.  Uncle Mark gave her a music cd which I've had to listen to for the last 8 hours and Uncle Curtis gave her a game.  It was a great time.

First Day of School

Today was the first day of school for the girls.  Another year with a full time 1st grader and a 4th grader.  I can hardly believe it!  Keara's teacher is Mrs. Sova and Kailei has Mrs. Holland.  They both seem great and the girls like them already.

They were both anxious for school to start and I enjoyed taking them on their first day.  Naturally I couldn't let the photo op pass us by.

Meeting the Teacher

OK, I have to admit I was mortified today when Kailei met her teacher.  She was definitely in a mood and not to be messed with.  Kailei has a stubborn streak you would not believe.  It generally comes out when she is tired and boy, was she tired yesterday.  She refused to answer the teachers questions, was quoted as saying, "this is boring, and proceeded to sit behind and mess up my hair big time.  Kailei is not one you can take out into the hall and talk with because she just digs in her heals even more.  Fortunately the conversation with Keara's teacher was quite the opposite so it helped me maintain.  I just had to write this down so when Kailei reads it one day, she will remember and might just feel bad.  :)
