Kailei-ism's

Kailei was having a hard time sleeping tonight so as I was trying to relax her I told her to "just let all those thoughts leave your head". To which she replied, "But then I won't be able to do math tomorrow."

***************
Keara was talking in the car about her babysitting job. Feeling left out Kailei stated her job was to "be popular".

***************
Kailei told a small lie to protect one of her friends the other day. Knowing it was a lie we had to address the situation. Zeb told her that it is important that she tell the truth but we understood that sometimes it isn't always the best time. He suggested that maybe she has a code word that would let us know she had something to say and would tell us later. Kailei thought it was a great idea and quickly suggested that the code word be "ka ka kaaaa.". (you had to hear her say it but I haven't laughed that hard in a while)

***************
Kailei came in panicked that she was bleeding under her nail.  I told her to just forget about it. She would be fine.  She said, "OK, is that what I'm supposed to do?

***************
Zeb to Kailei: "Can you can jump up and down on the edger so it goes into the grass?"  Kailei: "OK - just like a hobo stick?!"

Sometimes

Sometimes, the smallest thing fits perfectly in your heart or situation. Sometimes, just a phrase turns out to be your motto. Sometimes, a couple of words remind you to not give up. Sometimes, what someone once said is all you need to keep in mind that at least one person went thru what you're going thru. and sometimes, that's just enough to keep going, to keep smiling, to keep pushing on.

The British Are Coming!

This week Keara took part in a revolutionary war re-enactment.  I took off work so I could go watch.  Keara was British Calvary (without the horse).  The weather was perfect and they did a great job.  Keara refused to smile for the camera - stating that's what she was supposed to do.  Apparently there will be a video out later.  Keara wasn't impressed when I kissed her and yelled, "My baby is going off to war!"  I was given the evil eye so promptly decided to behave myself before she kicked me out.

A "Wicked" Time

Took Kailei to see Wicked today.  I was afraid she might get scared but she had no issues.  I'm not sure she understood all of it but she said she "loved" it.  She insisted we go out to a "fancy" dinner after so we headed to Carmine's which in my mind is fancy.  So delicious!

Easter Fun!

Enjoyed a low key Easter this year.  Kids dyed their eggs on Saturday and Kailei was beside herself with excitement on Easter eve.  Naturally the girls woke up early and were eager to find the eggs.  Kailei had given up candy for lent so she was especially excited and dove right into her basket of candy.  We went to church in Kiowa and then headed out to Tracie's.  It was a beautiful day so we enjoyed being outside and watching the kids play.  With four German Shepard at their house there was also additional entertainment.  Tracie cooked a great dinner and we really enjoyed ourselves.  Of course, we were virtually home and Keara suddenly forgot that she left her glasses at Tracie's so when we got home, Zeb turned around and headed back out there.  Gotta love Dad!
