A Trip to the Zoo

Gotta take advantage of the nice fall weather. Headed out to the zoo one Saturday. Samantha joined us and then Frances and her Dad showed up later. We had a great time and topped the night off with dinner at Noodles.

Kailei-ism

We were looking at Halloween costume catalogs the other night. I asked the kids to decide what they wanted to be so I could get it ordered. Kailei pointed to one of the pictures and told me, "I want to be this. I want to be Jesus!" I hated to burst her bubble and tell her that it was actually a statue of liberty costume. It was too funny. As is typical Kaile,i she later decided to be superwoman for Halloween. It fits her nicely.

A Visit to the North Pole

On Saturday we headed to Colorado Springs with Nic, Sydney, Grammy and Tracie. We took the opportunity to go to the North Pole. It is a quaint amusement park located near Pikes Peak. The kids had a great time.

Sydney and Kailei were obsessed with the ladybug ride. Nic and Keara were playing it cool and enjoyed the ferris wheel (which was incredibly high). Unfortunately Zeb got motion sickness after going on a few too many rides with the kids (stinks to get old). The rest of us just enjoyed the beautiful weather and the smiling faces of kids everywhere. Nobody was brave enough to talk with Santa so who knows what he will bring this Christmas.

Wounded Arm

I'm going to affectionately change Keara's nickname to "Wounded Arm". For the second time in eight years she is in a cast.

On Monday night she fell off her bike. It swelled a little and we didn't think much of it until the next morning when it was still bothering her. Zeb took her to the doctor, they took an x-ray and said she sprained it pretty bad. Later that day we got another call saying that after looking at the x-ray they think she actually broke it.

So on Friday I took her in and they put a cast on her arm. She was hoping for lime green but had to settle for pink. She should have it off in three weeks. I'm so grateful we have insurance with these two kids. :)
