Keara's Family Birthday Party

Sweet Keara decided to postpone her family birthday party so Grandpa and Grandma could be there.  Her official weekend was during a time when Merle was having his treatments so she decided to wait until he was feeling better and could come.  Unfortunately as timing would have it, Aunt Lieu and Anika were still in Vietnam and Nic and Tracie had a previous obligation to the church so could not attend either.  Despite the somewhat smaller crowd, we enjoyed ourselves.  Mom and Phyllis contributed to the dinner which made my job a little easier.  That said, I prepped for a horse party and managed to get a dog cake.  What a goober!  Keara laughed it off and we just called it the barn dog.  She was treated to many wonderful gifts and I know it was another memorable birthday for her.

Celtic Nights

Recently the town of Parker opened up the Pace Center which is a new theatre for us.  It is very exciting because now we don't have to travel quite so far for entertainment and the center really is nice.  As I was viewing the events one day last year, I saw that Celtic Nights was coming and naturally I knew I had to take Keara.  Celtic Nights is straight from Ireland and basically a combination of dancing, singing, and music.  It was awesome!  We had such a great time together and enjoyed our Irish evening.  I hope they come back again because Keara and I will be there.

Keara's Spa Birthday Party

Well, throwing parties is not my forte.  Especially if I have to do it alone so I called Lynn to come over and help me as Zeb was out of town and I was left with five girls and Keara's spa birthday party.  I was panicking but it turned out to be great fun.

The girls came over and we began by getting in our pj's and having a variety of salads for dinner.  After that, we headed upstairs and Lady Lynn and Christine proceeded to prep the girls for their mud masks.  We managed to get them to lie down for a few minutes while relaxation music played in the background but the girls were not really up for relaxing.  The masks came off and then it was make-up time.  One of the girls stated she was a pro at doing make-up so she did just about everyone.  I have to tell you that Lynn and I just sat back and had to laugh at all the comments that went between the girls.  I was cracking up.  After make-up it was time for presents and cupcake decorating.  The night was going fast.  We had planned on doing hair as well but everyone decided they wanted a little play time instead.  No problem for us.  We were getting pooped.  The night quickly ended for most but Keara had one of her friends sleep over.  She said she had a good time and I survived it.  Thank goodness Lynn was there with me!

Hearts

Kailei celebrated the arts while celebrating hearts.  She participated in a cute little program tonight where the kids jumped rope for hearts, sang songs about hearts, and created heart art.  We loved watching all the kids but of course our heart belongs to Kailei.

Snow Day!!!

Didn't expect it but loved having it.  Got dumped on with snow so they had to call a snow day.  Made a big breakfast for the family, baked cookies with the girls, started and finished a book, went sledding with Dad...it was awesome!
