Sometimes Friday nights are coined "Pajama Party Night". There are specific rules for the occasion.

-One must wear pajamas.
-One must eat cheap, frozen pizza.
-One must watch Boomerang on TV which has the old cartoons such as Scooby Doo, and The Jetsons.
-One must have popcorn.

Wouldn't you love to join us?

Memorial Day Weekend

Gosh, I'm struggling to keep up these days. Work has been extremely time consuming and if I'm not there, I'm trying to keep the household functioning.

Nevertheless we had a great memorial day weekend. Saturday we spent time getting ready for a BBQ. Sunday we spent time with friends at our house which is always a treat. Lots of kids running around the place. I was grateful for nice weather so we could be both inside and out. The kids are growing so fast and we just watch in amazement.

Monday, we rested.

Kailei's Version of the "Our Father"

Just My Beautiful Girls

Summer is Coming

Well, we are beginning to wrap up another school year. Three more weeks to go. Keara isn't looking forward to summer as much as I am. She enjoys school at this point and I certainly won't try to persuade her otherwise.

Keara has also finished religious education which leaves us with our Wednesday evenings open. Kailei has finished Chinese class for the year and will finish up her dance class tomorrow with the exception of the recital. Keara will take a break from Irish dance as well as of June 1. What will we do with all this time on our hands? I'm not sure but will look forward to finding out.

Zeb has a new job so that will be keeping him busy. I suppose the girls and I will be at the pool, seeing family and going on playdates. I simply can't wait!

As I said, Chinese class is over for Kailei now. This past Saturday they had a dumpling party and the kids sang songs and reviewed vocabulary for us. Kailei was distracted during the performance but she did enjoy the food, as did her classmates. It has been fun for us to share Saturday mornings with Lily, Emily and Catie's family. We will miss Emily next year but she will be learning Chinese every day in her new school. We do however look forward to seeing our Lily and Catie again in the fall.

In Honor of Kailei's Mother

"I want to tell her: Your child is alive. Your child is well. Your child is loved. She is healthy and strong and smart and beautiful. She is all that anyone could want for a daughter. You would be so proud....Let your heart rest....You have done your part...I promise that I will do mine."

A Mother's Reflection

It doesn't get any better than waking up to two beautiful smiling faces who are proudly carrying you breakfast in bed.

It doesn't get any better than reading the Mother's Day card signed "Keara and Kailei".

It doesn't get any better than their stated attempts at making this day "a whine free" day (knowing quite well it will be a challenge to get through a hour with such a lofty goal).

It doesn't get any better than the unsolicited hugs and kisses throughout the day.

It doesn't get any better than the spontaneous song sung about our family by Kailei.

It doesn't get any better than watching two sisters help each other clean their room (in hopes of going on a picnic).

It doesn't get any better than spending a day in the sunshine with loved ones.

It doesn't get any better than watching my sweet girls slowly drift to sleep.

It doesn't get any better than being a MOM.

My Mother (according to Keara)

My mother taught me to "walk and be kind".

My mother always says "how was your day?"

My mother "never yells".

My mother "makes me set the table".

My mother looks great in "pants and dresses".

My mother thinks "I look good in everything."

My mother's favorite food "is everything she makes."

My mother is crazy over "matching things".

I'm so glad my mother "is healthy".

My mother helps "me work and read".

My mother always "does fun things with me".

My mother looks "beautiful and pretty".

My mother is "my life and my love."

My mother goes "to the store a lot."

Thank you, mother, for "love and life."
