Halloween

I love dressing the dogs up.  Pretty sure they don't enjoy it, but they put up with me.  I think the Ricky's care bear was especially cute.  :)

Family came over for our traditional Chinese meal on Halloween.  Hardly any kids which was disappointing.

Help on Crutches

Love that this guy is willing to help out despite the fact that he is on crutches.  He blew the leaves into a pile and Keara and I scooped them all up and bagged them. Keara and I really appreciated it.  After 14 bags of leaves, I decided we have too many trees in our backyard.  Ugh!

Lunch Date

Made my way over to Judith's house for lunch today.  It's been challenging to find time to get together but we made it happen today.  Love my friend!

Kaleena

Kaleena was one of my students when she was in 7th grade.  She was a handful, but her smile melted my heart then and continues to do so today.  So great that we were able to connect, have lunch and catch up.  She is a great mother and person.  Love her!

Fall

Man, I just LOVE the fall!  This is just one of the paths that I walk.  I haven't been able to get to it for a while because there was some construction going on but I have access now and I feel like I can escape for just a few minutes on my walk.

Birthday Celebration

Took Caroline to tea at the Cherokee Ranch and Castle today for her birthday.  Decided it would be a good gift for Mom's birthday as well even though it is a little early.  Had never been there before and it wasn't very far.  The castle is beautiful and tea was just lovely.  We all had a great time.

Leah

11 years ago, the girls and I made a trip to Colorado Puppy Rescue. I wanted a dog that doesn’t shed and wasn’t going to bark too much. We ended up leaving with the cutest black and white terrier mix, and of course she shed and barked too much.

Having never had a terrier before I had no idea what I was in for. She had more energy that I could contain. She loved to run and jump. She loved going on walks and chasing squirrels. She loved food, didn’t matter what it was. She loved her humans and we loved her.

I will miss her bounding on the bed first thing in the morning looking for kisses and wanting to know what was on the agenda for that day. I will miss the moments she knew that if I put on my exercise clothes that she was going to get to join me a long walk. I will miss the moments she curled up like a cinnamon roll and fell asleep by my side. I will miss her following me from room to room, never wanting to be far from my side and wagging that tale of hers the moment I made eye contact with her. I will miss her latest passion for jumping on our backyard swing and enjoying a mid-afternoon nap in the sun. She was my dog.

We thought we’d have more time to enjoy her boundless energy, but I guess that was not meant to be.

We are forever grateful for the love she unconditionally shared with us. We are better for having been her humans and she our crazy pup.

Someone said that the hard part is not saying goodbye, but how our world changes without them, and the emptiness left in our hearts.

That said, we will live with the emptiness and remember the moments shared to fill in the hole she has left.

She will be joining Shadow and Taylor, Kindu, Kodo and Maya.  And she will get to chase squirrels and bark to her hearts content.

That Tear in His Eye

Sick Puppy

Poor Leah isn't feeling good.  She has stopped eating and doesn't have much energy which we know is serious for her since she has boundless energy.

I'll be taking her to the vet and see what they say.

Tracie's

Did a little housesitting at Tracie's for a couple of night while she and Gary move Nic to Arizona.  I was supposed to do take care of the dogs, but Sydney did most everything which was awesome because it was hard to remember it all.  Ten is too many dogs though I did enjoy it.  The only mishap was when I tried to fill all their water buckets.  I had no idea how crazy they would get with the hose and water.  Pretty sure there was more water on me then made it into the buckets.  It was quite funny.

Fall Choir Concert

Nice to have some things back in person again. Wish I could see her beautiful face, but we enjoyed her singing.

Beth and I got to meet up for lunch.  Made it a picnic in the park and then took a walk to catch up.  I'm so lucky to have such great friends.

Falcon Creek

I've been doing a little substituting and found myself back at Falcon Creek.  Found this on the wall and had to take a picture.  I'm the very first one.  I was so honored.

Retiree's Breakfast

Decided to try and get some former teachers/staff members from Cherokee Trail together for breakfast. Hoping to make it a tradition.  Enjoyed seeing former employees and catching up.

Got out of town for some fall colors and mountain air.  We were in Evergreen/Morrison area.  Enjoyed lunch at the Little Bear and a short walk with gimpy one.

Homecoming for Kailei

She went.  Now not sure how long she stayed.  Last year she took off and went to Dion's Pizza with friends.  They continued the tradition.  I don't blame her though because this year the dance/event was outside.  Brrr...

Senior Night

Tonight was senior night for Unified Cheer.  Kailei volunteered this season for the first time with cheer.  A teacher coach talked her into it so looks like she will be doing all the Unified sports this year.  I'm so happy that she enjoys doing this.  Makes her parents proud.
