Red Cross

This weekend Zeb's cousin John was flown up from Walsh to Denver's Swedish Hospital. Basically he came in with a aneurism near his heart among some other issues I don't know the medical terms to explain. Not soon after he was placed on a ventilator and we quickly turned to prayer.

Zeb's dad was also taken to the hospital to have some fluid drained from his lungs and legs. Keep him in our prayers as well.

Applause

Applause was in order as Mom, Mark, Zeb and I finished watching The Book of Mormon today.  What a great show!!!  We laughed a ton. Mark was actually crying he was laughing so hard (but he does have a bizarre sense of humor).  So glad I got tickets and so glad that we all got to enjoy it together.  Topped the day off with dinner at Carmine's.  Doesn't get better than that!

Syd and Kailei Celebrate Another Year

With so many birthdays this month, we combine efforts in many cases but I think Kailei ends up with the best end of the deal.  To date she had a party with Zeb's side of the family, a small party at school and now one with Sydney.  We had plans to go to the pool but it was a little too chilly so we went over to Tracie's house.  It was nice for us to get out of town to be honest and we enjoyed our time out there.  I literally did nothing to help Tracie except bring the cakes (sorry, Tracie).  Anyway, the girls were spoiled and had another memorable birthday.

Family Time

Play Date

Not feeling too well and my wonderful friend stepped in and took the kids to the park.  Thanks Britt!  Certainly more fun than sitting around the house with mom.

Thanks Poppy!

We are so grateful to my Dad who has gotten up and driven the girls to school each day for us. It really has helped Zeb out because he has a lot of early morning meetings.

I know it has been great bonding time for the girls. They have their routines with poppy and will always remember their time with him - the good, bad and the ugly.:)

Thanks for all your help Dad!!!  We love you.

Back to school

The girls started back to school this week. They had a brief meeting with their teachers on Monday. Keara is in 6th grade and has Mrs. Macintosh. Kailei is entering into 3rd and has Ms. Mercy. They both seem nice though Keara is nervous because she heard her teacher gives out a lot of homework.

The supplies are bought as well as a new outfits for pictures. I think they are ready to go. Hoping they have another great year.

Wetterhorn

Zeb and his buddy Scott headed over to climb Mt. Wetterhorn this weekend. Last time thy tried they were stopped by snow. Fortunately this time it was all clear. They spent the night in some far away town and reached the summit late morning.  I don't know how they do it but I'm glad they enjoy it.

Girls Night

While Dad was away, the girls did play. We did a little shopping, had some dinner, watched a movie and had a sleepover in Mom's bed. While mom didn't sleep much, the girls did just fine.

The Davison Birthday

Grandpa and Grandma made the trek this weekend so we could celebrate Anika and Kailei's birthday. And while it is a little early, it is what worked best for his chemo treatment.

It was our turn to host so I decided a picnic was in order. I tried to get a sub sandwich but who knew they needed 24 hr notice. We settled on ..... The weather was perfect and the kids seem to have a good time playing in the park as well as the creek. Of course , we can't go without a little drama and that happened when Kailei fell in the creek. Poor thing was soaked trough and through. Luckily, our house was nearby and we wee able to run home and grab some dry clothes. The boys enjoyed playing catch and basketball. Not sure who had more fun - Kailei and Anika or the guys.

Anyway, everyone seemed to enjoy it Happy Birthday Girls!

Google

Spent the last 6 months helping to put together the Google Apps for Education Rocky Mountain Summit. It is a conference designed for teachers and of course the focus is Google. It has taken up a lot of my time but it was worth it. Everyone had a good time and plans are already in the works for next year.

Where did it go?

The summer that is. I headed back to work already and have been putting in more hours than ever before. I'm really lucky my husband is so supportive. He puts up with this at the beginning and end of every school year. Bless his heart. And of course it isn't easy on the girls either. I heard my principal once say that our families sacrifice a lot when there are teachers in the house. There really is no other job like it.
