Field Day

Today Kailei had field day. I wasn't able to make it but Zeb went for about an hour. It really is just watching the kids play games but she had a good time and loves when her parents can come. Luckily they missed the rain. 

I have to say that I miss not attending all the end of year activities with Keara.

Birthday Buddies

Celebrated our birthdays tonight as is tradition.  They give a percentage off of the meal based on your age.  Needless to say ours is getting cheaper and cheaper.  Had a great meal at the Fresh Fish Company and then caught a movie. 

JCCC End if Year

Today wrapped up another year of Chinese cultural school. The kids did a beautiful fanc dance and then did a speaking introduction of themselves. Love, love, love seeing all that she does Chinese.

Dance Awards Gala

Tonight was Kailei's dance awards. Apparently we had to dress up a little to attend which I just learned as a new dance mom. Kailei and I were the only ones able to attend as Zeb and Keara something else going on. All the team members received a trophy for all the hard work that they had done this year. Kailei was very super excited.  We were even more surprised when she was awarded Student of the Year. She wasn't the only one but we were very proud. Her teacher said she has the "work ethic of a 25-year-old and sees no limits."

Kailei came up to me with this face and randomly said..."Where should I put this box of bok choy?" She's never even had bokchoy. The girl is so weird. Funny, but weird.

Kailei: "Ugh, they are going to show the puberty video today."
Zeb: "Oh, that is kind of a bummer."
Kailei: "It's not even really a puberty video. It's just about periods."
Zeb: "Ah, periods."
Kailei: "Wait a minute! YOU know about periods?"
Zeb: "Well..yes."
Kailei: "Oh, I get it. Mom told you, didn't she?"
Zeb: "That is exactly right."
Kaieli in her Mom voice: "Oh hi Zeb. I guess you know I have to wear periods."

Me: "I need you to clean up your bathroom please."
Kailei: "I already did. Boy, I get so tired of picking up Keara's stuff She leaves it all over the place."
Me: "Hmmm, like the stuff you left all over my bathroom?"
Kailei: "Exactly! So you know how I feel, don't you?"

I rolled down the window of the car for a minute and Kailei stuck her head out the window and said, "I feel so alive! Hakuna Matata!"

Me: Sorry, but no.
Kailei: You failed me mother.

Me: "I think every day should start like this.  Breakfast in bed..scrambled, eggs, peach tarts.."
Kailei:  "We are going to need a lot of peaches."

Mother's Day

I had the perfect Mother's Day today. The girls woke me up with breakfast in bed. Had the usual scrambled eggs, bacon and peach tarts. Yummy!  I was also showered with lots of homemade gifts which I loved.

This afternoon I went to the theater with the Zeb and saw Once. Really enjoyed the music a lot. Then we went out Carmine's to top off the day. Couldn't of asked for a better Mother's Day. Love, love, love my family!

Khiem's Birthday

Celebrated Kim's birthday today. It's a little early but since they are going to Vietnam we decided to do it now before they left. He turns nine years old in June. Had a good time of course getting the family together. Kailei was especially happy to see grandma. The kids had fun... big kids and little kids.

Teacher Appreciation Week

KAR Dance Competition

Kailei had the last of her competitions for the season today. It was the Kids Artistic Review. I think she danced her best ever so we were very proud. So sweet of Sheryl, Sam and Matt Lawrence to come and watch her. She didn't know they were there at first and when I told her she said, "Why didn't you tell me? I would have danced better."  I thought that was cute.  Have to thank Keara for getting us through the season with all the hairdo's.  I could not have done it without her.
