Steamboat - Day 3

Not always easy to entertain two teenagers.  Headed to the lake today where they went paddleboarding.  Both Keara and Zeb fell in the very cold lake but they seemed to all enjoy themselves. 

Could not go to Steamboat without going to the hot springs so we headed there.  It was way too hot for the girls to get in but Zeb took the plunge at one point.  Storms blew in and out so I just got a lot of reading done today.


Girls had enough of the outdoors so we dropped them at the hotel and Zeb and I went to town for
dinner.  Horrible garlic roles and Elk sausage pizza did not satisfy so we hit another pizza shop and stopped for ice cream.  We did get a nice walk in after it rained some and enjoyed the rainbow. 

Steamboat - Day 2

Woke up and went to Fish Creek Falls.  Beautiful area!  Then we went to the ski basin for Steamboat.  They had lots of summer activities so we rode the mountain coaster, rock climbed, went up the gondola and played miniature golf.
It was hot but we had fun. 

Had a craving for steak so I found a restaurant that looked reasonably priced.  Turns out we had to cook our own steaks.  It was an...adventure.

Kailei is still scratching and Keara is still walking with an ice pack. :) 

Steamboat Springs Mini Vacation

Headed up to Steamboat Springs for a long weekend today.  Started at the Botanic Gardens there.  Kailei got quite a few mosquito bites and professed her dislike of nature.  Also, had some pool/hot tub time.  Keara also had an allergic reaction to some face cream so was spending the day with an ice pack glued to her face.  Good times. 

One of my Favorites

Love this lady!  Former student and we have managed to keep in touch for 26 years.  Had lunch today and got caught up on the past year.  Then she posted this wonderful message on facebook too.  My heart skipped a beat. 

Happy 26th Anniversary!

26 years with this guy today!  Not always easy, but I would not change a thing.  Happy Anniversary to us!  Pizza and Baskin Robbins date.  Life is good.

Mary Jo!

Love this lady!  I have know her my whole teaching career as she helped me survive my very first year teaching.  She is enjoying retirement now and we have managed to get together TWICE already.  Botanic Gardens and Lowry Beer Garden today.  So enjoyable!

Cherry Blossom Festival

Tried to go the Cherry Blossom Festival last year, but got rained out.  It was dicey again this year but we made it.

Bowling and pizza with cousins.  Not a bad way to spend a summer day.

Jessica and Keenan spent Father's Day with us as they happened to be in town.  Always great to see them. 

Father's Day

No breakfast for Zeb, but he did get some great cards and paintings. 

Parker Days

Second attempt at Parker Days.  More successful this time except the girls spent $18 on ferris wheel tickets and waited in line for almost two hours.  Lesson learned. 

Parker Days Attempt

Convinced Tracie to come to town and go to Parker Days.  We were all excited but it actually wasn't going to start until later that evening.  Started pouring rain, but we made the best of it and went to see Pets 2.

Birthday Dinner

Lynn and I finally got to celebrate our birthdays.  Fresh Fish Company this year.  It didn't disappoint.  So grateful for our friendship.

Dance, Dance, Dance

Finally made some time to go see Samantha dance.  The show was four hours long, but she did a great job.  Love how talented our Chinese family is. 

Rock the Boat

Little conference that Kailei and I went to this year.  Great keynote speaker.
