Stock Show Time!

So since Zeb and Keara went to the stock show last weekend I was feeling kind of left out. I couldn't let the stock show go by without me going. It just didn't seem right. So I took off early from work and joined Mom, Dad and Mark down at the show. Hard to explain the feeling you get but I so enjoy it. Makes me miss my horses but thankful for all the good times we've had. I did manage to get a funnel cake which was one of the many highlights of the evening.

Dates for the Girls

Zeb and Keara had a daddy-daughter date today and so Kailei and I took advantage and we had a girls day with Grammy.. Grabbed Kailei after Chinese and went out to lunch and then we headed over to Build-a-Bear. She's had some gift cards in her wallet for over year so it's about time we get to it. She spent quite a few minutes trying to pick out what she wanted and eventually ended up building a Chewbacca. That's my Kailei. Walked around the mall and then went to church and ended our day eating Chinese food. Good times.

Recreational Basketball

Kailei is done with PE at school and so we decided to try or put her in a local recreation league basketball. She had one practice and then they had a game. I think it's crazy but there they went. I wouldn't say that they're scoring very high but they are having fun which is the point.

Day 3 of our New York Weekend

Had a little bit of time today before we had to leave so we headed up to Dobb's Ferry to visit Sharon and family. Nothing formal was organized so we went to Walters hotdogs which was a unexpected surprised. Of course I loved it and now I can go to my grave knowing that all of Sharon's family has had Walters hotdogs. Bernice took us to the airport and we said goodbye to New York as fast as we came.

Day 2 in The Big Apple

Had a little bit of time to kill so we walked around some of the stores in Times Square. Went to have lunch at the Stardust diner but the line was way too long so Keara went back to the hotel and I went to grab some pizza at Ray's. After lunch our first show was The Color Purple. Great leading actress and Jennifer Hudson did a great job as well. Enjoyed it. Next we headed back to the Stardust diner to see if we could get in for dinner. The line wasn't too bad so we waited. The place was absolutely packed but it was fun to have people singing around us and having a nice lunch or dinner together
The real reason I wanted to come to New York was to see Spring Awakening.  It is signed/voice performance that was done by Deaf West theater. It was everything I wanted and more!. It ended up being Keara's favorite as well. The combination of deaf and voice actors and actresses was just phenomenal. Loved everything about it. Wish I could stay and see another show.

The Big Apple

Every once in a while I get a burning desire to go to New York and doing a weekend of Broadway. Decided to share that this year with Keara. Today we headed out and our first show for the weekend is called then Fun Home. It was good. Even saw somebody that I used to go to school with acting in it. The weather is absolutely beautiful and we're staying in the Crowne Plaza Hotel which is also very beautiful. Think it's gonna be a good weekend.
