Keara's Parent/Teacher Conference
Well, nothing unexpected. Keara is doing a great job and is a great student. Going to her conference is such a joy. We are very proud of her and hope she is just as proud of herself. Keara wants to be a vet when she grows up right now so we have told her that math and science are important for that career. Who knows how much that will change but she loves school and that makes us all happy.

Nic's Birthday
Nic is another year older...can you believe it? Spent the evening enjoying Grammy's spaghetti followed by a Dr. Who themed cake. Nic loved it. Zeb was kinda out of it however because he had lasik done earlier in the day. I offered to take him home but he didn't want to the miss the party. I'm not sure sleeping on the couch counts as being "present". The good news is that he can see without glasses!!!! Yippee!
Molly's Birthday
Manage to escape work early this year and enjoy some time with some of my favorite colleagues. It was Molly's birthday and we celebrated by going to a Mystery Theatre. It was my first time and it was a lot of fun.

My Ducklings for the Day
Girls are on fall break so I decided to take them and a few of their friends to the zoo. How I managed to keep five kids rounded up is beyond me but I sure had fun.

Kailei's Parent/Teacher Conference
Well, I must admit I was nervous going into the parent/teacher conference. I knew it could go one way or the other. Fortunately, I didn't have to be concerned and Kailei is doing just fine. I LOVE her teacher this year. She is a real professional and I'm not easy to please. I have no doubt Kailei will be learning and growing this year in a truly caring environment.
Mrs. Holland's comments:
"Kailei is an exuberant and very engaged student! She is very proud of her learning."

Second Wind Walk for Suicide Prevention
Today we walked. We walked for those who felt they could not take another step. We walked for friends and family who have lost someone they loved. We walked for those who felt life was too painful to bear. Somehow I hope we made a difference for someone.
