Our Christmas Morning
Another Christmas in the books. Our traditions continue. I make them wait upstairs so I can film them coming down and ultimately capture the "surprise" in their eyes. OK - maybe it isn't quite what it used to be when they were little but I make them do it anyway.
The girls are always grateful for what they get though we often get from their list so I guess that helps. :)
Kailei scored when she gave Keara a picture of "How to Train Your Dragon" made of words from the film script.
Keara was happy with her tea set, jewelry, small table and of course, books.
Kailei got a number of pairs of converse, new jacket, a storage cabinet.
Good times.Archer Christmas
First Christmas without Dad so have to admit it was tough at times. Happy Kevin's family was here.
We did the usual breakfast. Nic took over making the pancakes that Poppy used to make. Everyone chipped in where they could to assist Mom. It was delicious as usual.
Fun to have Grace around for her first Christmas. I think we all could have saved a lot of money and just given her shiny wrapping paper as that seemed to interest her the most. I did make sure she got a Walter's bib however.
As usual, Keara made her gifts and we all loved them. She make a pillow out of Dad's shirts for Mom and she made everyone else an ornament from his shirts as well. She also presented each family with sunset photo she took on Poppy's birthday from the cemetery. The image is made up of small pictures of Poppy. It is beautiful. She also cross-stitched a stocking for Grace.
Mom outdid herself as usual. Always so giving. We were all just grateful to be together. Christmas will never be the same without Dad but he will always be with us in our hearts.

Christmas Eve
The Archer's clean up okay. Went to church early and had party food at our house after. We always talk about doing something different but it is hard to break with tradition. It was great to all be together.
Kevin's family shared with us their peace light and the story behind it.
Everyone was off to bed early so Santa could come. 😉
