Keara's Amazing Day
Anyway this was similar to other dog shows. Keara took a written test this morning and then just a little after lunch did her showmanship class. I thought she looked really good but I'm never sure about this whole judging thing. I think she was happy with her performance but at some point they decided to do a run off and her name wasn't called. We were both surprised. I think we also assumed that the runoffs were for people that were in the top of the class. Needless to say we were a bit disappointed that her name wasn't called. Thinking that was the end, I had to boogie on out of there to go to a wedding reception. Keara did not feel like staying down there either so Zeb brought the girls back home. Later in the evening we had an amazing text message from her trainer, Mary, indicating that she actually won the class! We were so excited. I'm so bummed we weren't all there to be a part of the celebration. What an accomplishment! Especially after only one year of doing this. When I congratulated her she was very nonchalant and said, "Well, it isn't Grand Champion or Reserve Grand Champion." Ugh, teenagers! We are so proud of her and look forward to more good things to come

John Davison
Today we said goodbye to Zeb's cousin John. While his health has not been the best over the last few years this is still an unexpected event. Zeb was honored to speak at the funeral and a few folks even requested that he speak at their funeral someday (haha). Apparently Zeb is sounding more and more like his Dad when he speaks.
A good friend of mine said that she always makes a point of attending funerals and weddings and I find that I'm going to try and make an effort to do the same. While the occasion was a little bit somber, seeing family is always the best.

Heritage Camp Day 2
Field day was on the agenda as well as playing mah-jong and having a heart talk. I think for me I attended the best parent workshops ever. Learned so much and met some great people. Ended up having dinner with my mom friends, kids and one of the speakers named Jerry. He took us to the best Chinese restaurant ever. Learned a lot from him as well as had an amazing, amazing day
