Red Rocks

For years I have wanted to take the girls to Red Rocks. Such a beautiful place. Had to take advantage of this evening because a lot of the movies occur during school nights. Without really thinking I took them to the Pretty Woman. Not my best mom moment. I got a confused with My Best Friend's Wedding. So now they are educated on a little more than I wanted them to be. Zeb actually ended up taking the girls home early as Kailei had camp in the morning and Keara thought it was too loud. Still can't beat the venue. Hopefully we will get there another time with a slightly more appropriate movie to be seen.

Chinese Heritage Camp

Today was the first day of Chinese Heritage camp. It was around 90° so once again I totally know it's time. This year it's being held at Regis University. Kailei's in the middle school group now so she has a little bit more freedom and gets to do some fun things. Today they went to Earth Treks and did some rock climbing. Apparently she had a good time. The Trautman's and the Peterson's are here with us so it makes it three times is fun.

Davison Family Get Together

Got together with the Davison family today. Leslie was up from New Mexico with her kids and so we went out to John and Margaret's for dinner and had a great time. Kids seem to enjoy each other's company and we enjoyed catching up with everybody.

Douglas County Fair

Keara competed in the Douglas County Fair today and did a great job. She got first in showmanship and second in obedience. She really had her best obedience ever but the judge docked her a ton of points when I don't think she should have. Anyway she qualified for the state fair so will be heading down to Pueblo in August

Heels are a must for Kailei while doing chores.

Family Day

Today was family day. It is hard getting a teenager to agree to do anything with the family right now but we managed to persuade her. We headed to the White Fence Farm and enjoyed a great lunch. Apparently lunchtime is the time to go because there's hardly any crowds. We then decided to head over to Chatfield damn. Little did we know that the place was practically flooded everywhere. We found a spot in the parking lot where the girls could splash around but that's about all we could do. Topped the day off with some live music and dinner on the patio and some ice cream. Love this bunch!

Gotcha Day

Ten years ago today this little girl was placed in our arms.  What an incredible day!  She has brought more love and laughter into this family than you could ever imagine.  Blessed beyond imagination!

First Tennis Match

  She was nervous as all get out but did just fine for her first time.  I don't understand tennis at all but looked like fun. 

July 4th

Got home from Los Angeles this afternoon. Not much time to organize anything for the fourth but Mom saved the day and invited us over for dinner. Enjoyed spending time with the family, eating delicious food and sharing our California adventures with them.

California: Day 9

We spent most of today at the Performing Arts Center watching the finals for dance. Kailei's group got fifth place and she was happy with that. We didn't have much time after that so we just went down to the pier and enjoyed some ice cream, strolling around the shops and a nice dinner on the patio.  Keara was maxed out so she went back to the hotel.

California Day 8

Today Kailei's production number performed and they got first place. Yay! We're super excited for her. It means they qualify for finals and will dance once more.

Went to lunch at In and Out burger again. Have to say I really like that place. Then we went to the beach for a little while and then came back for kind of a low-key afternoon. Kailei and Zeb spent the rest of the afternoon and evening in the pool.  Keara and I had our noses in books.

California: Day 7

Today was the first day of the dance competition. Kaylee performed all three of her dances. She had a good time but competition was tough so they didn't win any awards. Went to the aquarium in the afternoon and enjoyed a nice dinner at the Outback Steakhouse.
