Jack and the Beanstalk

Last Monday the Missoula children's theater came into town. Naturally the girls wanted to audition to see if they can take part in the play. Keara generally has her aspirations set for assistant director and she happened to get what she wanted. Kailei auditioned and ended up being part of the circus. She was not too thrilled as she thought she would be an animal but she ended up being an acrobat. It was a busy week and the girls got really tired but all in all they have lots of fun. Grammy and Poppy came to the show on Saturday and Zeb and I attended both performances.

Mommy-Daughter Date

Kaylei and I went on a mommy daughter date today since we both had the day off from school. We did a little shopping, we had lunch at Panera and then we got our nails done. It was lots of fun. Kaylei is such a great person to be with.

Mark

Hard to believe but Mark is turning 30 this week.  Yikes!  Yes, this fun loving guy is living footloose and fancy free.  He is going to celebrate in Vegas as any 30 year old should.  We had a family dinner for him tonight and had a good time but we know Vegas will be the highlight.  Happy Birthday Mark! 

JCCC Chinese New Year Celebration

Always one of my favorite events of the year.  I just love seeing all the kids in their colorful costumes dancing and singing.  It really is a highlight for me.  And for Kailei...well....let's just say she enjoys the stage.  It was held on a Friday evening so we met Mom and Dad for dinner at Big Bill's NY Pizza and then headed off to the performance.  Kailei did a great job and we are proud of her.

Keara's Birthday Continued

Well, today was the day we planned on celebrating Keara's birthday with a friend.  It works out nicely because she doesn't have school tomorrow so we made plans for her to invite a friend over and we would go to Jumpstreet and out to dinner.  Best laid plans....

Yesterday, at gymnastics Keara sprained her elbow doing a backbend.  I am losing track of the number of times she has sprained or broken something.  Naturally, we had to make a plan B so today instead of Jumpstreet I took her and a friend to the American Girl store to get their dolls hair done, do a little shopping and go to dinner.  I think I was able to save her "friend birthday" and she is having a great time despite her arm.

Keara's New Pet: Bear the Hamster

Keara's Family Birthday Party

It was a busy weekend for the Davison's between Chinese New Year events and celebrating Keara's birthday.  Grandma Phyllis came up which is always fun and took Keara out on a special girls date yesterday.  They went to the mall, got their nails done, had lunch and did a little shopping.  They both had a great time.

Today, the Archer's and Davison's got together in honor of this "12" year old.  We had a great lunch, opened presents and ate cake.  Keara's theme this year was dolphins and she had a great cake (notice the dolphins were made out of rice krispie treats).  Her highlight for today I think was getting her pet hamster.  It was going to be a turtle but after some investigation her mother wasn't quite up for it so Keara conceded to having a hamster.  His name is "Bear" and she has been the perfect mother to him all day.  Our goal is to keep it alive which really means keeping it from Lea. We will see how we do. 

Keara stated that she thought this was her best birthday yet so I guess we did OK.  :)

Chinese New Year - Celebration #1

It's the year of the snake and we kicked it off with style.  We managed to get into the big clubhouse this year for our MWCC party.  It was very nice but we quickly made a mess of things which is easy to do with 16 littles running around.  Did our usual crafts, visited and filled our stomachs with great food.  The kids exchanged red envelopes which is always fun to watch.  Another year.  Hard to believe. 

Date Night

Zeb and I got to get away for an early Valentines evening tonight.  (Actually I'm just calling it that because we have nothing else planned for the actual day and we happened to have rescheduled tickets for tonight).  Anyway, we grabbed a bite to eat and went downtown to see Jeykll & Hyde at the theatre.  I've never see it before so it was a treat for me and the two leads were AMAZING!  Good times. :)

Cozumel Wedding

So enjoyed the time in Cozumel.  While it was humid and my hair was out of control, I really can't complain.  Spent most of my time reading and hanging with my pal Judith.  The wedding was on Saturday and was absolutely gorgeous.  I highly recommend destination weddings.  The bride was beautiful and the setting could not have been more perfect.  It was special to be able to celebrate such a wonderful occasion and even more special to be there with my friend.
