Stock Show 2011

Can't start the year without going to the National Western Stock Show.  The kids had Friday off of school so Zeb and I took it off as well and made a day of it.  The rest of the Archer gang also went.  We started by watching some of the draft horse show and then went to the rodeo.  We have gone before but the girls didn't seem to remember so it was all new to them.  They had a blast eating junk food and watching all the events.  Kailei especially liked the "bullhorse".  Mark was showing that evening so the adults went to view that while Zeb braved having all four kids and walked around the kid zone.  It really was a great time.  The hitch that Mark works for ended up taking fifth in the nation as well as a second in the eight horse hitch.  He works pretty hard with all those horses so I think he was pleased.

Keara Has a Sleepover

Well, you wouldn't think that having two girls over to spend the night would be so crazy but let me tell you that it can be.  Lots of giggles, lots of energy, lots of screaming but I think they are having a good time.  Kailei has managed to jump in the mix and is adding to the chaos.  I feel sorry for Zeb but he is being a trooper.  Guess we should get used to this.  Glad Keara is having fun.  She has asked for a slumber party for her birthday next month.  I'm not sure her mom is up to it but we'll see. 

MWCC Dinner

Enjoyed dinner with the Merwin-Olk's this past weekend.  Have to say once again that I just love my mom's group.  The Peterson's and Lawrence's were there as well.  The girls had a good time and Paul cooked up a mean dinner for us all.  Looking forward to our next get together.

Kailei-ism

So my Mom was talking to Kailei on the phone the other night and I overheard her asking Kailei what she was doing.  Kailei responded, "Watching ice melt."  Life is indeed exciting around here.
