The Mission
Last week I had the wonderful opportunity to participate in a church mission. I have never done anything like this before and didn't really know what to expect. The initial invitation came via video and after watching, I knew I had to be there. I invited my friend Britt thinking she would enjoy it as well and Mom decided to attend too.
The mission speaker was Father Larry Richards from The Reason For Our Hope Foundation. Father Larry is a very holy man, and a very passionate man who is extremely engaging. He promises that you will never be bored if you listen to him. While he can sometimes be abrasive and slightly offensive, I really enjoyed his talks.
For four nights we attended from 7-9pm which is not easy on a school night and often he would run late. Topics discussed included prayer, family, confession and healing. The evening on prayer was the most moving for me personally but I left each night with some great messages and certainly some goals to work on as I strengthen my faith.
Mom was unable to attend the last night but Britt and I made it all four nights and really believed we grew spiritually.
I encourage anyone to listen to him speak. He will certainly make you think.

Ponies!
What girls doesn't love ponies! Certainly mine do. Sydney got some new ponies (she calls them her "cutie pies"). Anyway, we just had to go out to Kiowa and see them.
They were as cute as expected. They are minature ponies and you just about want to bring them into the house with you. Of course, who are we kidding? I used to bring my horse Tiger into the house so size really doesn't matter.
Anyway, Sydney was very proud of her new ponies. They are just darling. I feel bad for Kailei because she really loves them but has a terrible allergy to them. I wouldn't even let her touch them. I felt horrible but we left without needing medical attention.

Spring Break Re-visited
So I never got to finish detailing our spring break so I'm going to just share that we had a great break overall. We spent some time at home (I worked), but then had a great playdate on Thursday at my friend Sheryl's house. The kids had a great time and so did the mom's. I even brought Sydney to this playdate and while I thought she would have major issues, she did just great and fit in without any trouble. Who woulda thunk?
Saturday, I took the girls to see the movie Horton Hears a Who. Keara loved it but it was a bit too scary for Kailei. Lesson learned: leave Kailei at home.
Saturday night...I get a sore throat. That was the first sign....
